Stop Press: Hot from Malta!!

The Commonwealth Youth Ministers Taskforce, meeting just before the 3rd Commonwealth Youth Conference, happening 6-8 November in Malta, has applauded the work of the Commonwealth Youth Program and that of CAYWA.

The Youth Ministers were engaged in the discussion on pathways to professionalisation of Youth Work, reviewing examples such as Malta, Estonia and Zambia as countries that have legislated Youth Work.

CAYWA Chair Robyn Broadbent’s presentation buzzed the meeting with new conversations on how countries can fast track their own pathways to professionalisation.

The Commonwealth Youth Program also announced that they would be working with Kenya and the Solomon Islands to build the capacity of their respective Youth Worker associations and CAYWA is poised to support this initiative.
