Virtual Coffee Trials

Updated: Oct 30, 2020

As part of our International Youth Work Week activities, CAYWA has teamed up with students at Victoria University to organise a Virtual Coffee Trial, this idea was brought to us by board member Adam Muirhead, of the Institute for Youth Work (UK), after the success of the trials at IYW.

The idea is to be matched with a youth worker from another country and to have a half an hour (or more) conversation about the similarities and differences of youth work in each country. This is a great way to network, talk about youth work, gain insight into another country and genuinely have a chat with someone!

Here is a message from the students:

"Our names are Jessica & Suzana,

We are Youth Work students working alongside with Professor Robyn Broadbent and the Commonwealth Alliance of Youth Workers' Association to bring together the virtual coffee trials to fruition during International Youth Week which is the 2nd to 6th November, it is a great opportunity for the Youth Workers to come together and share their experiences. We will be delighted to match you with a Youth Worker from another country, it’s a 30-minute coffee trial, please find a time that will suit you to have your randomized coffee catch up. The catch up will be a great opportunity for Youth Workers across Victoria to collaborate and share their experiences and involvement in the field. All we ask is that you confirm with us the time and hopefully invite us in.

We would love to be a part of your conversation wherever possible for our own learning."
